WTAF Appreciates the Leadership of Diane Hightower

The Board of Directors highly appreciates and recognizes the strong efforts of Diane Hightower as a consultant for the Willie Thrower Award Foundation.

Her strategic vision and unwavering commitment to honoring Willie Thrower's legacy has been extraordinary. For the second year in a row, Diane has spearheaded the annual Willie Thrower Award Foundation Walk in conjunction with the American Heart Association.

Willie passed away at the age of 71 due to a heart attack. As a poignant reminder of the fragility of life, Diane was inspired to raise awareness about heart health by spearheading the heart walk in commemoration of Willie with WTAF and the local community.

The heart walk was held on October 6, and was well attended by an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.

In addition to the heart walk, Diane has again teamed up with the Peoples Library for the 2nd annual WTAF essay contest. The contest is open to students in grades 3 through 8 from the New Kensington, Arnold, and Burrell school districts.

Diane’s commitment to the WTAF stands as a testament to the power of vision, compassion, and dedication. Through her innovative ideas and unwavering passion, she has not only honored Willie Thrower's legacy but also sown seeds of hope and progress in the community.

As we look towards the future, Diane's dedication serves as a guiding light, inspiring us to embrace change, nurture young and older minds, and champion noble causes with zeal and enthusiasm.
